Laboratory Technician Jobs

Shift Schedule Detailed: Full time- work three 12 hour shifts/week. Day shift position 0500-1730 but flexible to other shifts. Needs to be able to work 1 weekend shift/ month, 1 major and 1 minor holiday.

Location: Home base is Plano Heart . Float to Plano Heart, Plano Regional and Lake Point

JOB SUMMARY

The Lab Tech 3 perform phlebotomy, processing, testing and provide clerical support. Collection of other specimens as needed. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Conducts advanced laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other Laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens. Set up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
