Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.
Requirements
Job Overview
The Research Coordinator position exists to enhance the Psychology department’s research output and support the growth and development of students. The primary functions of the role include conducting independent research activities, such as data collection and analysis, preparing manuscripts, collaborating with faculty members, and presenting research findings at conferences.
This position helps Post-Baccalaureate students develop essential skills to advance in a competitive field of research and become exceptional candidates for graduate school.
Work Interactions
The research coordinator will play a vital role in advancing the lab’s program of research. The Research Coordinator will work closely with and report to Dr. Casey Brown, a faculty member of the Psychology department, who will provide guidance and oversight throughout their research and academic endeavors. The coordinator will manage and frequently engage with undergraduate research assistants in the designated lab space who will provide valuable support to the coordinator’s lab research. The research coordinator will have the opportunity to introduce undergraduate students to the field of psychology research by allowing them to gain hands-on experience in research methodologies.
Through the contributions and interactions with other department members, this position reinforces the collaborative nature of the psychology department and its commitment to nurturing talented individuals, fostering research quality, promoting diversity and inclusion, and advancing Georgetown University’s broader mission in higher education and academic excellence.
