Associate Scientist - Protein Purification

Bonum Therapeutics, Inc. is an early-stage biotech company creating a new class of immuno-oncology protein therapeutics that are delivered systemically but activated locally.

We are seeking an associate scientist to join our growing team. As part of a well-supported and integrated group, the individual will purify and analyze proteins using both standard and novel approaches and help advance our lead candidates to clinical testing. The ideal candidate is a rigorous and hardworking scientist, highly organized and detail-oriented. The ability to contribute to a team effort is critical. Responsibilities

• Participate in developing purification and characterization methods for novel proteins
• Prepare buffers used in protein purification and analysis
• Analyze protein samples using UV-Vis spectroscopy, analytical size exclusion HPLC, SDS-PAGE and other methods to determine concentration, purity.
• Carefully document work in an electronic lab notebook in a timely manner
• Purify protein drug candidates and related reagents to support multiple ongoing therapeutic programs
• Communicate status and results of work to supervisor and other members of the Protein Science Team
• Organize and maintain protein inventory, provide samples to staff members

Requirements

• Prior experience with Cytiva AKTA preparative chromatography platforms and Agilent HPLC systems is preferred
• Prior experience purifying recombinant antibodies using Protein A chromatography is preferred
• BS in a relevant scientific discipline with 3+ years of experience
• Familiarity with SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry
• Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic team environment
• Experience and proficiency with affinity, size exclusion chromatography and ion exchange chromatography
• Attentive to details and able to contribute effectively as part of a team.

The annual salary range for the position is $95k - $115k. Job level and compensation will depend on the qualifications of the final candidate.
