Job Description
Position Summary

Tracking California is a program of the Public Health Institute, in collaboration with the California Department of Public Health, and our mission is to mobilize data for public health action. We “track” or compile and analyze data about public health and the environment to protect California communities. Our core values include environmental justice and health equity – we work to ensure that all Californians, regardless of location, identity, or income, have the opportunity to live in healthy communities protected from environmental hazards. To achieve this goal, we help community groups, government agencies, researchers, and health advocates shine a spotlight on environmental hazards and other factors that may be impacting community health.

As part of our data team, the Research Associate IV will play a key role in supporting a variety of public health surveillance and research work within Tracking California’s projects including but not limited to: Community Air Monitoring, Water Quality Data Visualizations, and the Environmental Health Tracking Network. An ideal candidate would have values that align with our program’s scientific integrity and accessibility, transparency, sustainability, partnership and promoting respect, as well as a passion for social justice. We aim to build an inclusive program team that is reflective of the populations we support, and actively seek applications from individuals from communities that are marginalized and underrepresented.

This position is 75% FTE (30 hours per week) with the possibility of increasing to 100% FTE in the fall dependent on funding availability. This is a remote position.

Full salary range for this position: $66,843 to $96,905 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $66,843 (minimum) to $81,874 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE.
