About Us


Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking a Research Analyst for the R&D Partnerships and External Innovation team in Durham, North Carolina.



  • Work with the PLTs to develop communication strategies for showcasing program research outcomes at external meetings and publications.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the production of publications, slide decks and other communication materials to showcase Seeds Research pipeline and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the competitive intelligence lead to acquire, analyze and visualize competitor pipelines that provide aligned insights to inform both PLTs and the Technology and Trait Domain.


Accountabilities


  • Develop and maintain science communication materials that can be used by SR leaders in external communications.
  • Maintain up to date communication materials to enable seeds research leadership to be able to communicate current pipeline status and be able to position this next to our competitors.
  • Ensure internal and external communications including newsletters, reports, press releases, social media and website content are scientifically / technically accurate.
  • Create success stories highlighting internal and external innovation projects to share with the internal seeds organization and externally via the web or through external communication materials.


Qualifications


  • In-depth knowledge of SYT and competitive portfolios (Seeds + CP)
  • Key R&D processes involved with development of Seed, Traits, AI’s, and formulations and their support in markets
  • Understanding of business and commercial concepts
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Well-established global network across Syngenta’s scientific community
  • Scientific and/or technical expertise in one or more of Syngenta’s core scientific disciplines.
  • Thorough understanding and broad knowledge of existing seeds and traits research, development and agri- businesses.


Critical Experience


  • Broad network across organization
  • 10+ years successful experience in design, set up, management and delivery of diverse R&D projects.
  • 5+ years of experience setting up and managing diverse and successful external collaborations with third parties.
  • Experience in initiation, management and analysis of new/speculative projects
  • Working in a global matrixed organisation
  • Experience of working with funding agencies on large and diverse projects
  • Recognised technical expert

  • Develop and keep current communication material for SR programs and pipeline for both internal and external communication.
  • Work cross functionally to agree on the key data and analytics required to develop a single point of truth for pipeline competitor intelligence.
  • Helps seeds research leaders visualize and communicate its pipeline of traits and technologies and position the pipeline versus that of its competitors.
