Learning Experience Designer, L&D

Summary


The Learning Experience (LX) Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and creating learning solutions and managing training projects to support the learning and development of employees and the educational needs of the business.


You will be responsible for designing training experiences for all aspects of the business including but not limited to onboarding, technology, and process implementations, in- field coaching, product, leadership, and staff development training programming. You will use a variety of learning modalities such as eLearning, ILT, VILT, and blended learning.


Responsibilities


  • Using various adult learning theories, to design and develop effective and instructionally sound learning experiences and products using a range of learning methods and media (e.g., video, hands-on practice, workbooks, interactive)
  • Continuously improve the design of learning experiences and products based on the latest research in learning and adult education
  • Evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of learning programs and complete edits or updates annually, or as needed
  • Work with subject matter experts across the organization to identify target audience’s training needs
  • Review existing training programs: make enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization, or the industry
  • Be well versed in creating learning objectives and build content to support objectives through classroom, self-study sessions or online programs.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • 5+ years of previous sales and/or applicable business experience a must with proven ability to educate and train.
  • Understanding of the veterinary pharmaceutical market and experience in a veterinary practice or other healthcare or scientific industry is ideal.
  • 3+ years’ experience using instructional design to develop engaging eLearning and blended learning environments.
  • B.S. or B.A. in education, business, or scientific discipline. Veterinary education a definite plus.


Competencies (skills And Abilities)


  • Strong planning, organizing and execution skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve planned results.
  • Dynamic and engaging facilitation skills both in person, and virtually.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and eLearning development software such as Articulate 360, and Camtasia
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and gain trust in virtual environments
  • Understanding of effective application and use of various media, including computer-based virtual training spaces.
  • Proven track record of strong program or project management
  • Experience working with back-end LMS administration (Litmos, Showpad, LearnUpon, Canvas etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills—able to quickly establish rapport
  • Strong ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Strong skills in designing learning experiences for various learning modalities (eLearning, Online course, facilitator lead etc.).
  • Committed team player who can work with general direction and with demonstrated ability to identify and analyze problems and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to create effective training programs delivering highly technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in formulating learning objectives and learning needs, designing, and developing learning solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness
  • Experience using multiple eLearning authoring tools, including Articulate.
  • Quick and avid learner, especially with veterinary medical and pharmaceutical terminology
  • Understanding of adult learning methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people at all levels.
