The Representative, Carrier TL will report directly to the Carrier Operations Manager, TL. As a Carrier Representative, TL, this individual will work as part of a team to manage Truckload Services and Brokerage business within EFW Truckload, a division of Estes Forwarding Worldwide. One will be responsible for all aspects of carrier operations with the EFW Truckload division which will focus primarily on carrier service and shipment management. You will ensure proper execution of standard operation procedures, key performance indicators, and other account metrics on a daily basis.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


Duties include but are not limited to


  • Accountable for maintaining profitable, cost-efficient Truckload operations, guiding and supporting all sales efforts and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory guidelines.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Provide Manager, Station TLB with daily guidance and support on any issues relating to Truckload operations, communication, human resources and company policies.
  • Ensure that freight is being expedited in a safe and timely manner and that the station provides a safe and professional environment for all staff.
  • Maintains and grows positive, productive customer relations while managing daily resolution of issues.
  • Continuously improve processes to ensure excellent customer relations via carrier relationships.
  • Support and promote company core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work directly with the Manager, Station TLB to ensure station is using the appropriate mix of multimode providers and assist in the implementation and compliance measurements of external service partners.
  • On-call schedule required as requested.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5-7 years of experience in the Transportation industry. Three years supervisory or managerial experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • A team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts.
  • Ability to identify issues, requirements, and opportunities involved in customer service.
  • Experience managing external service providers (airline, cartage, truckload, line-haul).
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to present to groups across the organization.

The position is accountable for all fiscal and operational functions of the branch for Truckload Brokerage at Estes Forwarding Worldwide, and leading, directing and managing Truckload Brokerage operations and sales to ensure a consistently high level of service, quality as well as employee and customer satisfaction.


Duties include but are not limited to


  • Conduct regular performance reviews for all staff, promptly address any employee performance problems and provide coaching or counseling as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain positive, productive customer relations while managing daily resolution of issues.
  • Establish and continuously improve Truckload Brokerage processes to ensure excellent customer relations.
  • Manage Truckload Brokerage branch and company resources to facilitate quality and efficient operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Use the appropriate mix of multimode providers and assist in the implementation and compliance measurements of external service partners for Truckload Brokerage.
  • Ensure that all staff adheres to company and station policies and procedures.
  • Review and evaluate Truckload Brokerage branch P&L performance and continually adjust short- and long-term goals to maintain profitability at or above company expectations.
  • Ensure that freight is being expedited in a safe and timely manner and that the Truckload Brokerage branch provides a safe and professional environment for all staff.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.

  • Lead, direct, and manage branch Truckload Brokerage operations to ensure maximum profitability and superior customer service.

  • Operational, safety, and other needs may require the employee to perform any and all other duties as assigned. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.
