Position Description:
We are searching for a highly experienced Release Manager that will own and manage the entire process of quarterly release cycles across a suite of enterprise products. The position is required to have a deep understanding of agile processes, be a detail-oriented planner, and have a high degree of comfort interacting and communicating with all levels of the organization. This position will interface with all business units on a regular basis, including not limited to, Development, IT operations, QA, PMO, and Product Management. This position will work in coordination with another Release Manager within the portfolio to manage major quarterly releases and provide oversight to minor releases at a more frequent cadence.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting release readiness reviews, including assisting project managers with ensuring required release documentation is complete and accurate
- Forward planning of quarterly release cycles for multiple enterprise products
- Coordinating and negotiating release content based on groomed and prioritized product backlog, dependencies, and constraints
- Driving teams to ensure adherence to schedules, scope, and quality
- Collaborating with various groups to optimize the delivery of release content based on quality and delivered value
- Participating in and presenting at Change Advisory Board (CAB) for deployment approval
- Reporting, monitoring, and communicating on release status, including identifying any changes to scope, schedule, cost
- Communicating and reporting to senior management on status of release cycle
- Identifying, scheduling, and coordinating code deployments through development, test, and production environments
- Identifying and managing risks and resolving issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Leading and coordinating all release activities for a given quarterly release
- Developing and maintaining release schedules for all core products
What You Bring to the Team:
It’s an important role that covers many skills. We’re seeking applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or similar field or equivalent related experience plus six (6) of more years’ experience. Possesses proven track record of managing release cycles across enterprise products and portfolios and has a collaborative work style to drive success leveraging experience with Agile Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methods The ideal candidate has worked in the financial technology space and is an experienced leader. Experience with the following companies and/or products is preferred: Finastra – CME and LoanIQ, Encompass – Ellie Mae, Microsoft – CRM Dynamics, Fidelity Information Systems – Optimist, Floify, and/or CSI.as.
