Job Description
Summary


As a Regional Vice President, Land Acquisition & Development working for Taylor Morrison you will identify, negotiate and acquire properties in the area that competitively position the division for success. You will lead manage the Land Development Team through the engineering, entitlement and development processes needed to supply the Division with timely developed lots. You will work collaboratively with all functional peers as a member of the Division Leadership Team.

We trust that as a Regional Vice President, Land Acquisition & Development: (responsibilities)


  • Prepare and negotiate Letters of Intent and Purchase and Sale Agreements
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the Land Planners, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure land development on time and at or under budget
  • Identify specific acquisition opportunities that meet corporate strategic goals and underwriting criteria
  • Complete financial analysis of potential acquisitions
  • Utilize general market research focusing on regional employment, demographics, sales volume, and competition levels
  • Generate acquisition opportunities through a network of industry contacts including major landowners, brokers, equity partners, engineers, title companies, legal counsel, and peers
  • In collaboration with Division leadership team, create an annual strategic land plan defining geographic, product, pricing goals to guide acquisition efforts and support the Division’s overall strategic plan
  • Coordinate outside legal counsel, project consultants, and internal staff in acquisition efforts
  • You are willing to perform other duties as assigned
  • Direct land development activities both internally as well as in the field
  • Negotiate land development contracts with various vendors, trades and contractors
  • Supervising land acquisition escrows and title work
  • Develop land committee package for presentation to the Investment Committee

About You


  • Strong computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum ten years of experience in land acquisition and development
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Concise writing and public speaking/presentation skills are desirable
  • Proven track record of leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or meet the minimum requirement for number of years of direct experience
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to implementation and execution
  • Ability to anticipate possible obstacles and propose favorable solutions


FLSA Status: Exempt

Physical Demands


  • Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
