Job Description

Job Summary

Under general supervision, coordinates the collection, evaluation and dissemination of performance data relative to specified quality and safety programs within all regionally assigned RadNet Centers. Maintains records of specified data according to QA Department, accreditation and certification programs, safety, and State and Federal health care standards. This is done through:

  • Collaborating and consulting with other associated facilities regarding current quality control issues and activities.
  • Monitoring and evaluating appropriateness of facility quality control plans and practices.
  • Generating and/or coordinating the development of various reports regarding performance against quality indicators, as appropriate to the individual RadNet region or facility.
  • Participating in the planning, development, coordination and presentation of specific training, meetings and educational programs as appropriate to the quality assurance needs of the department or of a specific region or facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Overall

  1. Assists Sr. VP of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs and Director of Quality Assurance as needed in long-range planning, communications and other tasks.
  2. Keeps informed of RadNet policies and general conditions to provide input and propose solutions.
  3. Spends 40% of working hours visiting assigned centers to assess records, conduct regulatory compliance audits, and train site Managers, Safety Coordinators and QA Coordinators regarding regulatory responsibilities.

  1. QA/QC Specific Within The Assigned Regions

Daily

  1. Responds to calls and personal e-mails from regional managers, site managers and staff to answer questions and assist with issues.
  2. Checks the Compliance Department e-mail Inbox and responds to emails applicable to assigned centers and staff.

Weekly

  1. Reviews all incident reports in the “Unapproved 14 Days or Longer” list and follows-up with center managers regarding these overdue reports. (Preferred on Wednesdays)
  2. Reviews current incident reports and follows-up with center managers regarding incomplete reports.
  3. Audits the Controlled Substances Application Reconciliation Data for all centers that purchase narcotics and follows-up with center managers as needed. (Preferred on Wednesdays)
  4. Conducts site visits two to three days per week.

Monthly

  1. Runs training reports and follows-up with managers and medical directors who have outstanding employees.
  2. Runs policy acknowledgement reports and follows-up with managers and medical directors who have outstanding employees.

Quarterly

  1. Analyzes quarterly quality performance logs in the QA Tracker for all assigned patient centers and issues reminders to centers that are incomplete.Weekly QA Logs for Oxygen Tanks, Crash Carts and Defibrillators
  2. Monthly ALARA Logs
  3. Monthly Crash Cart Logs
  4. Monthly Emergency Kit Logs
  5. Monthly Patient Satisfaction Logs
  6. Quarterly X-Ray Repeat Analysis Logs
  7. Quarterly Equipment Inspection Logs
  8. Quarterly Safety Meeting and Emergency Drill Logs
  9. Biannual Facility Safety Inspection Logs or Biannual Accreditation Inspection Logs
  10. Manager’s QA Summary Logs
  11. Analyzes quarterly quality performance logs in the QA Tracker for all assigned administrative offices and issues reminders to centers that are incomplete.Quarterly Safety Meeting and Emergency Drill Logs
  12. Provides reports to the Regional Quality Assurance Supervisor as requested.

Annually

  1. Collects, collates and analyzes Annual Patient Transportation Logs for each assigned patient center.
  2. Reviews and follows-up on Annual Regulatory Compliance Audits for each assigned patient center and administrative office.
  3. Reviews and follows-up on Annual MQSA Mammography Audits for each assigned patient center.
  4. Reviews and analyzes Annual Due Diligence Audits for each assigned patient center.
  5. Collects, collates and analyzes Physician Satisfaction Survey data for each assigned practice region.
  6. Runs and analyzes Annual Breach Reports for each assigned region.
  7. Runs and analyzes Annual QA Log Summary Reports for each assigned region.
  8. Runs and analyzes Annual QA Statistics Reports (used on the company website) for each assigned region.
  9. Helps develop and promote Annual Corporate Compliance Week educational materials.
  10. Helps develop and promote Annual Safety Month educational materials.

Ongoing

  1. Conducts site visits at all assigned patient centers to: Audit Records Physicist reports
  2. Agency inspection reports

  • Orientation Safety Checklists for all staff
  1. Assess for Regulatory Compliance HIPAA

  3. Narcotics storage
  • Life safety (fire extinguishers, means of egress, electrical closets, emergency back-up lighting, fire alarms, sprinkler systems)
  • Radiation safety (Landauer reports, lead shield integrity, syringe shields, radioactive material storage)
  1. Crash carts and emergency kits
  2. Infection control (disinfectant usage, personal protective equipment availability)
  3. Assess for ADA accessibility (building and suite entrance, reception area, mobility assistance equipment, walkways, restrooms, dressing booths, exam rooms).
  4. Assess licensure and accreditation expirations.
  5. Assess each center’s MIPPA Audit binder.
  6. Conducts site visits at all administrative offices to:Assess for regulatory compliance (postings, HIPAA, OSHA safety).
  7. Updates MIPPA Audit Binder documents as policy/procedure changes are implemented.
  8. Stays abreast of the various regulatory body updates and makes recommendations for company policy/procedure changes to meet new requirements.

As Needed

  1. Assists new managers and new site specific QA Coordinators with QA Tracker data entry.
  2. Troubleshoots QA Log issues when managers have questions or data appears incorrect.
  3. Assists center managers with the various other Radnet Applications.Controlled Substances

  1. ADMINISTRATION

  1. Uses good written and oral communication skills; applies computer and program development skills.
  2. Relays information regarding questions or issues beyond authority to the Regional Quality Assurance Supervisor when it could impact the service that we provide, the smooth operation of the centers, or impact company liability.
  3. Assists the Regional Quality Assurance Supervisor as needed with special assignments and special projects.
  4. Prepares and submits all reports required by the Regional Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  1. PUBLIC RELATIONS

  1. Promotes good public relations with all directors, managers, employees, vendors and other business contacts.
  2. Demonstrates initiative and creativity in promoting positive employee relations.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Imaging center experience with at least a Bachelor's degree preferred; at least 3 years of technical radiology experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
