Job Description
This position is responsible for creating and managing, comprehensive, scalable, Environmental Health and Safety Programs for all of the US. This role will require significant travel and interface with General Contractor, Customer and CyrusOne personnel.
MINIMUM 50% TRAVEL REQUIRED
Essential Functions:
  • Provide Construction Health and Safety technical and compliance expertise to business leaders and personnel at all levels, informing and advising Management on H&S performance, compliance status, issues and potential risks.
  • Interface with customer and contract H&S personnel to maintain alignment on H&S matters.
  • Lead administration of Safety Management System(s). This will include data entry, validation of data accuracy, follow up with corrective actions, dashboard maintenance, and other necessary tasks.
  • Establish a “Plan-Do-Check-Act” culture of continuous improvement, incorporating near miss reporting, serious incident root cause and failure analysis, lessons learned communications, management of change, and incident prevention teams.
  • Conduct or oversee periodic reviews and audits of H&S compliance and track corrective actions.
  • Assist in setting up and managing any necessary insurance claims to include vehicle, general liability, worker injury (OCIP), property damage or other applicable policies.
  • Maintain all documentation related to claims per our documentation retention policy.
  • Ensure projects are complying with all applicable health and safety regulations by keeping abreast of existing and new legislation/regulation anticipating future legislation/regulation, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence to regulation and advising management on needed actions.
  • Support and prepare documents and information requested from other departments.
  • Author, review and administer H&S policies as needed.
  • Other support duties as needed.
  • Assist with invoicing and validation of third-party activities such as auditing, permitting or program development.
  • Assist with updating presentations, metrics and other media.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Recognized health and safety qualifications.
  • Expert in construction or industrial project management, including the implementation and development of health and safety management systems
  • 2+ years of relevant construction and project management H&S experience
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Strong commitment to customer service including internal and external customers.
  • Microsoft Office 365 knowledge including SharePoint Administration.
  • Ability to develop and administer the enforcement of policy and procedures firmly, tactfully and with consistency.
  • Willingness to adjust hours and be flexible as required by the business to include being onsite for extended hours during significant business needs.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related equivalent experience.
Work environment:
  • Travel required - 50% or more
