The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Records Clerk in the Police Department.

Summary of Duties

The ideal candidate must be able to review, input and process police related documents into the Records Management System. The ideal candidate will be able to Assist City departments and government agencies in obtaining police related information. Assist general public with requests for copies of reports and local criminal history checks. We are looking for a candidate that is able to perform receptionist duties by answering telephones, greeting visitors, directing visitors to the appropriate department, and provide information as requested. The perfect candidate will have experience with advanced knowledge of the Internet, and office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in this role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability. Minimum Qualifications

What We Need from you as a Records Clerk

As a Records Clerk, you will be responsible for the direct support of the Sugar Land Police Department by providing administrative support to all four divisions. The position is multi-task oriented, requires exceptional and proficient records management skills, and archive of municipal records. The position necessitates critical thinking skills with highly developed technical skills in processing of municipal government needs. The position requires initiative and the ability to work with little supervision.

  • Experience in a law enforcement environment is preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in records and file room management.
