Job Description
Job Summary
Records Clerks shall be responsible for clerical functions of a specialized nature in order to maintain the official departmental records of the police department. Duties follow well-established guidelines, methods, and procedures.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Special Requirements
Must type 40 wpm with 90% accuracy. Must pass written general knowledge and spelling exam. Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Ability to climb stairs while carrying file box
  • Ability to work several consecutive hours in an office environment without the use of tobacco products
  • Ability to understand rules and confidentiality
  • Ability to listen, comprehend and apply information received
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing using the English language
  • Skill in customer service
