Job Description
Overview:
Plans and directs activities of Quality Technicians, processes all daily scrap through Trans4m and maintains the control of parts going in and out of the quarantine cage. Must be able to adequately perform multiple tasks. Assist the production team leaders with quality issues, including disposition of the issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews daily scrap from all program areas and processes them in Trans4M.
  • Compiles training material and conducts training sessions for Quality Technicians.
  • Reviews daily supplier nonconforming parts and work with Quality Engineers to disposition the parts in a timely manner.
  • Oversee onsite supplier reviews/containment of nonconforming parts, and assist the Quality Engineers with supplier issues.
  • Compiles monthly scrap report for all programs.
  • Responsible for Maintaining & monitoring the plant Calibrations Program for torque guns and gauges used in plant manufacturing.
  • Assists Quality Technicians in improving offline checks and develops plans for reduction for those checks by eliminating all redundant checks.
  • Develops and initiates standards, including revising check sheets and for inspection.
  • Assist with IMDS data reporting
  • Will work closely with internal and external customers to trouble shoot problems and if necessary provide onsite visits to investigate problems.
  • Conducts internal audits.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
  • Ability to support activities (under direction of Quality Engineer/Sr. Quality Engineer) related to the application of advanced quality tools including SPC, RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action; i.e. 8D, 5-Why, A3’s or other formats), DOE, Control Plans, MSA/GR&R. and PFMEA.
  • Able to interact with internally and externally customers and suppliers.
  • Strategic thinker and planner
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and/or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
