Job Summary
Join our Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) team as we seek out driven individuals to step into the role of Laboratory Supervisor for our Virology and Serology sections. As a fully accredited establishment by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD), ADDL proudly stands as the official diagnostic laboratory for the State of Indiana.
Our mission centers around supporting Indiana's veterinarians, livestock producers, and animal owners in safeguarding animal health. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, contributing to identifying and preventing animal diseases that can impact both public health and the well-being of animals.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry or related field
- Experience supervising laboratory personnel and scheduling/coordinating work teams
- Team building skills and the ability to interact with a range of staff with various abilities and skills
- Extensive laboratory experience, with preference given to diagnostic virology and/or serology laboratory experience Management and coordination skills
- Must be a motivated, independent worker with the ability to adapt daily as schedules and needs change from day to day
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience)
- Two years of experience in diagnostic medical biology/chemistry or related laboratory work, with preference in virology and serology
- Good problem-solving skills
