Job Summary and QualificationsGENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Contributes to the company’s mission and vision by supporting and coordinating clinical performance and training in an assigned market or area. The Quality Coordinator (QC) will work under the direction of the Director or Manager of Quality and the respective market operations executive to support, promote, design, and implement quality and training programs. In order to achieve defined outcomes, the Quality Coordinator engenders commitment, encourages cultural changes, disseminates information, and provides support for safety process changes. The QC ensures compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and licensure standards.
SUPERVISOR:Director/Manager ofQuality with matrix reporting to market executive
· Under the direction of the Director/Manager of Quality, directs efforts at the clinic level to ensure Quality Program and Performance Improvement methodologies are successfully implemented and maintained throughout the assigned market(s).
· Ensures quality of care and safe clinical practices are maintained and promoted by visiting clinics, observing clinical processes, assisting in clinical operations if required, and course correcting in real time.
· In collaboration with the education team, oversees execution of division/market clinical onboarding and initial competency; ensures required training courses documentation is complete.
· Supports the orientation program for new hires by overseeing the pool of preceptors through initial training, ongoing skills assessment and development.
· Performs clinic/clinical audits as directed by Director/Manager of Quality to ensure clinics comply with regulatory and UCA standards and are in continuous UCA survey readiness.
· Collaborates with clinic/market leadership and the education team to identify and address any trends, needs, or enhancements to new hire and/or preceptor training.
· Prepares for, participates in and submits minutes from quality or medical leadership meetings, as directed.
· Supports the deployment of any new service or capability from a clinical perspective to meet needs of business.
· Meets with and collaborates with Market Medical Director(s) and Market Operational Executive to discuss market(s) quality opportunities and plan improvement strategies.
· Plans, executes and oversees new patient safety initiatives, such as COVID-19 vaccine administration, enrollment, administration and overall quality.
· Assists in preparations of quality metric reports and development of meaningful improvement plans in collaboration with clinic staff and/or quality team members.
· Submits monthly reports to the Director/Manager of Quality and participates in monthly operations reviews as directed.
· Participates in implementation, monitoring and maintains competency of UCC quality initiatives to support market leadership in the achievement of their strategic agenda.
· Coordinates with education infrastructure and occupational medicine leadership teams to support occupational medicine specific initiatives and competency requirements for core service line services.
· Expertise in EMR and workflows to guide staff competency and best practice.
· Knowledgeable in clinical disciplines to include Back Office, Point of Care testing, Blood Alcohol testing, Drug Screen testing
· With the support of markets team and preceptors, supports identification and immediate remediation of competency gaps to minimize service disruptions.
· Monitors Event Tracking Tool (ETT), facilitates investigation, root cause analysis of every quality event in the Market(s), suggests improvement strategy and closes events in a timely fashion.
· Hosts educational clinical classes to employees and supports development of ongoing educational resources as related to Quality and Patient Safety initiatives.
· Plans, schedules, and runs clinic mock emergency scenarios to improve emergency readiness.
· Maintains awareness of regulations and licensure requirements, keeping informed of pending and or implemented changes that might impact clinic capabilities or service offerings.
· Develops communication tools to alert Market(s) of their performance on quality metrics as well as report on predetermined KPIs as established by leadership
· Assists HR with employee symptom tracking and reporting as applicable.
· Maintains the strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee and physician relations.
· Observes and exhibits the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of physician office practice or urgent care center operations highly preferred.
· Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
· Knowledge of applicable regulatory, compliance, and accreditation standards and requirements
· Knowledge of governmental reporting programs.
· Mentor, influence, and manage through matrix reporting relationships.
· Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data and prepare comprehensive management reports.
· Project Management: Skilled in project planning, task prioritization, effectively manages resources, outcomes measurement, and tracking. Takes initiative and exercises good judgment.
· Effective problem-solving skills to include data analysis and judgment to make effective decisions
· High Impact Communication - Effective oral and written communication skills
· Effective change leadership knowledge and skills
· PC Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and others as required.
· Maintains high level of confidentiality at all times.
· Ability to build trust and gain respect through effective team leadership and participation skills.
· Ability to work under minimal direct supervision but maintain a high degree of communication of current work activity with supervisors.
EDUCATION:· Bachelor Degree required (prefer Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
EXPERIENCE:· Minimum 2-years relevant experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:· Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state of residence required.
