Job Title:Quality Control Inspector

Classification:Non-Exempt Full Time (7:00 am to 3:30 pm)

$18 to $24 / hr. depending on experience

Summary/Objective

Functions within a Q1 and API 6A environment responsible for the Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection for the Distribution and Manufacturing facilities while supporting manufacturing operations as required.Understands general inspection techniques while performing basic dimensional / product marking inspections using appropriate documentation and calibrated equipment.Must lead by example, be honest and trustworthy, take the initiative to proactively resolve issues, and be continually productive on company time.Must have a positive can-do initiative acumen under minimal supervision while performing work in a professional, safe, and respectable manner.

Essential Functions

• Report / document nonconformance or potential problems relating to product quality and/or QMS deficiencies.
• Perform Receiving, In-process, and Final Inspection of raw material / products as assigned.
• Follow work orders and shop travelers to perform inspection duties.
• Read and interpret drawings to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of API 6A Products.
• Completes Manufacturing and Quality Records at appropriate stages.
• Proficient use of calibrated equipment such as calipers, thread / plug gages, depth gages, and GO / NO gages.

Additional Duties as Promotion Dictates

• Support manufacturing operations including machine programming and setup.
• Create manufacturing and distribution COCs as required.
• Support administrative duties as assigned.
• Review MTRs / COCs for compliance to purchasing requirements.
• Controls the Calibration Database including equipment recalibration recall.
• Create / maintain QC Inspection Packets.
• Support NCR dispositions.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing facility can be loud.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Typical for administrative and machine shop environments.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum high school diploma and 5+ years of combined QC / manufacturing experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Minimum Associate degree
• 3+ years working within a certified API 6A manufacturing facility
