How will you make an impact?
Our Recombinant Proteins (REP) Business Unit in Cranbury, NJ is part of our Biosciences Division. REP unites deep scientific expertise with a collaborative culture to build a product portfolio that includes cytokines, growth factors, antibodies and ELISA kits used to support the research of our academic, government, biotech, and pharmaceutical customers.
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for testing during and following the manufacturing process to ensure that the desired characteristics and quality of the company’s products have been achieved.
What will you do?
- SDS-PAGE gels
- ELISA
- Western Blot
- Endotoxin testing
- Mass spectrometry
- Nanodrop
- N-terminal sequencing
- Stability testing (where applicable)
- Certain biological testing
- HPLC/SEC
- Perform quality control testing for in-process and final products with a primary focus on cell based assays development and maintenance. Test methods include but not limited to:
- Cell based bioassays
- N-terminal sequencing
- HPLC/SEC
- Nanodrop
- Endotoxin testing
- Mass spectrometry
- Mycoplasma testing
- SDS-PAGE gels
- Western Blot
- Certain biological testing
- Stability testing (where applicable)
- ELISA
- Cell based bioassays
- Mycoplasma testing
- General operation of the laboratory space
- Prepare media and other reagents or solutions
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely data in laboratory notebooks/electronic notebooks and database.
- Follow ISO and GMP guidelines where applicable.
- Complete all documentation to conduct the tests, and report any inconsistencies, deviations, malfunctions or variations to Quality Assurance Department.
- Help develop methods to improve existing techniques and efficiencies
- Maintain 5-10 mammalian cell lines using aseptic technique (cell harvesting, counting, seeding for functional testing,

Education
- High School Diploma is required
- Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years related experience preferred, or Master’s Degree with 1+ years related experience.
- Biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience working in cell culture laboratory 2-5 years.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of aseptic processing in controlled environments
- Knowledge or work with TF-1 cells, 3T3 cells, CTLL-2 cells, MCP-11 cells, MO7e cells, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing. Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and hands-on experience in controlled environments; understanding of GMP procedures
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
