Jr Data Analyst / Technician, Factory Field Quality

Tesla’s Factory Field Quality team serves as a critical bridge between Quality Engineering/factory teams, the “field” (sales, service, delivery locations), and partner engineering teams across the business. Accurate data is the key to solving the right customer concerns as quickly as possible, and the Jr Data Analyst / Technician plays a vital role in delivering that accuracy.

This role will serve two critical objectives:

1) Analyze and summarize field data: prioritize top customer concerns for problem-solving teams to resolve

2) Improve quality of incoming data: Assess accuracy of technician write-ups and identify key areas of improvement

• Summarize new top concerns for engineering teams to prioritize solutions
• Develop an understanding of all customer concerns and failure modes by studying vehicle specs/drawings, working with factory inspection teams, and periodically visiting service and delivery centers.
• Provide upward feedback on how to better analyze and summarize the data
• Analyze service technician repair notes, tags, and images for top customer concerns across all vehicle models (you’ll be reading hundreds of write-ups every week)
• Work with additional data analysts/technicians to identify trends in data and service technician areas of improvement
• Assess accuracy of write-ups and dashboard systems; provide weekly summaries to team project manager to drive improvements with write-ups and automated data systems

• Proven track record as a fast-moving problem solver capable of delivering concise, actionable feedback
• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings is a plus
• Previous mechanical inspection background with ability to use basic and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.) is a plus
• Strong written communication skills, able to tailor communication between non-technical and technical audiences
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint required, or proven track record of quickly learning new digital programs
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with Tableau, SQL, Jira, or similar software is a plus
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment, customer-facing role, or data analyst role; or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, computer science, business analytics, or related.
