Quality Assurance Engineer
South Hackensack, New Jersey, United StatesEstablished international manufacturing company, located in Bergen County, NJ is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE). This individual must be very proactive to succeed in the high energy/fast paced environment. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as this role interacts with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
The QAE is responsible for controlling the quality of products, processes, and services throughout the supply chain. This includes compliance to applicable regulations and requirements. This position interacts with various departments on the implementation of quality goals, objectives, and continuous improvement activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with internal and external suppliers and other interested parties to resolve problems and nonconformance’s without undue delay.
- Creating and maintaining documented information (Procedures, WIs, BOMs, Records…)
- Verifying the suitability of CAPA responses and their effectiveness.
- Leading the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, including root cause analysis the implementation of CAPAs.
- Meeting goals and objectives!
- Defining inspection criteria and implementation of quality controls.
- Supplier Monitoring, Development, and Improvement.
- Participating in internal audits.
- Ensuring containment actions are timely.
- Handling Customer Complaints, Warranty Claims and Corrective Actions.
- New product/process development and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Implementing QC outputs from Engineering Change Notices and initiating ECN’s when needed.
- Supervising and coaching associate(s).
- Planning and conducting supplier audits.
- Travel up to 25%, including international.
- Identifying and driving continuous improvement projects.
- Providing reports and status updates regularly to management.
- Handling Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs)
- Providing leadership, guidance and support to the teams overseeing different issues.
Required Skills and Experience
- Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio…)
- 3-5 years of Quality Assurance, in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Exceptional communication skills (Verbal and Written).
Preferred Skills, Experience and Certifications
- Advanced understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- GE Wind or other APQP Certification(s).
- Lean Six Sigma.
- Certified ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 Auditor.
- Warehouse Management Systems.
