Job Description

This highly visible role is the first critical link to transform both current and new supplier relationships. We aspire to balance quality and price to create a sustainable and reliable supplier network for our highly dynamic business. The key to success is balancing category strategy, project execution and cross- functional alignment to meet business needs.


We are looking for top talent in the Minneapolis metro area to work in a hybrid model (3 days working in office, 2 working from home). This allows you to be closely connected with our products made at our Anoka facility with the flexibility to determine the schedule that works best for you!

What Will You Experience In This Position


  • Lead onsite evaluations of supplier operations from design control to raw materials through production and all supporting activities to delivery
  • Perform spot audits of supplier quality assurance processes which may include testing and product audits
  • Assist in the investigation and analysis of customer complaints and follow-up with the relevant functions to ensure that they are addressed & closed in a timely manner
  • Evaluate and improve supplier capability to support new nVent products and programs
  • Lead risk management activities, including the development and implementation of FMEAs, process control plans, and warranty agreements
  • Serve as escalation point for resolution of chronic supplier performance issues working with internal functions and suppliers to implement action plans to resolve issues and track efforts to completion
  • Collaborate to set requirements, train, and support defect resolution of Supplier PPAP, APQP, and SPC processes
  • Support global sourcing initiatives teaming with sourcing category leaders on supplier assessments, supplier transitions and supplier/product qualification
  • Engage directly with a broad range of suppliers in multiple product categories supporting nVent’s mission to develop safer systems to protect critical customer equipment
  • Support suppliers in the development, approval and execution of process validation protocols and reports for critical processes
  • Partner with sourcing category leaders to identify opportunities for improved quality and cost reduction
  • Assist with the maintenance of our ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System as it relates to Supply Management


You Have


  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to effectively partner with parallel functions to drive projects
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Supply Management or related field
  • Ability to track multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience with a variety of materials, components, specifications, assembly and manufacturing processes, and customer requirements
  • Experience using APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in supplier and internal organizations
