Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Manager, Domestic Facilities and Operations (Food) to oversee our international quality program in owned and/or third-party food-grade facilities primarily in the United States and Canada. In collaboration with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality programs through regular on-site and remote visits. Your technical expertise, internal collaboration, and facility relationships will be essential in achieving our mission of exceeding customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee the product quality monitoring program in the facilities, including risk-based testing programs and proposals for process improvements.
  • Perform or arrange for product surveying/sampling as needed.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of facility-level quality requirements to support the supply chain team.
  • Provide support for Quality Systems development and implementation.
  • Serve as the training lead for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety (FS), and Sanitary Transport (ST) for facilities and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct evaluations and onboarding of new suppliers and logistics partners, including on-site audits.
  • Conduct on-site compliance inspections and internal audits for operational facilities.
  • Manage the change control framework (domestic quality portion) for introducing new processes, facilities, products, and related changes.
  • Lead quality investigations for supplier and logistics-related case management.
  • Ensure optimal storage of products within facilities to preserve quality.
  • Offer facility-level compliance support.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel 50%+ within the United States and occasionally Canada.

Education & Experience:

  • FDA food safety training and experience, including PCQI, FSMA, and FSVP.
  • Experience interfacing with customers.
  • Experience building and implementing projects/plans.
  • 5+ years of quality management experience in food-grade storage/processing facilities.
  • Certified practitioner in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Certification in HACCP, USDA, or FDA is preferred. Familiarity with relevant EU legislation.
  • Experience working cross-culturally with a global team.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in microbiology, chemistry, food technology, or related discipline.
  • Experience in multi-site leadership.
  • Experience working with agri-food ingredients, with organics experience as an asset.

Requirements of the Position:

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% on average.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business. Permanent work location is flexible.
