Who We Are Looking For:
Addition Financial Credit Union is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and creative Public Relations Specialist and Writer to join our Public Relations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating written materials that support the public relations goals of our credit union, including, but not limited to, press releases, speeches, messages from executives and event invitations. They will create and execute PR plans to promote the work the credit union is doing for the community, with a focus on engagement and earned media and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and report on key metrics. Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals and assist in crisis management is also a part of the responsibilities. This role will also be planning and executing events including ribbon cuttings and the Foundation’s grant celebration and will be managing application intake for grants and scholarships.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have a strong understanding of storytelling and know how to tailor content to different audiences and platforms.
- Manage relationship with crisis management firm.
- Write for internal purposes including speeches, talking points, written messages for executives and internal employee communications channels.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, be able to handle change and be able to perform well under pressure.
- Track and report on PR metrics and campaign results for leadership.
- Write press releases, media pitches, and other materials to support PR campaigns.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communications skills and ability to convey messages clearly and persuasively.
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and news.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and team members to develop effective PR strategies.
- Write and edit content for grant writing and award submissions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Execute PR plans and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
- Manage grant and scholarship submissions for the Addition Financial Foundation.
- Assist in planning and executing PR events and initiatives.
QUAILIFICATIONS:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manager multiple projects simultaneously.
- AP Style proficient.
- Strong research skills.
- 3-4 years practical experience in public relations, communications, writing, or campaign planning/execution required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with media monitoring and analysis tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Self-starter, motivated and thrives in a fast-pace, positive work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience with social media platforms and basic website skills a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, but also independently.
- Organizing and supporting events experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
