JOB DESCRIPTION:

The contractor will be needed through the end of the Tyler New World Upgrade project estimated to close at the end of the 2024 fiscal year. The contractor will handle five (5) projects during this time that are actively in the initiation phase and have IT tasks executed during the same time as the Tyler New World Upgrade project.

The IT Project Manager will manage and coordinate operational projects from establishing scope and objectives. This process may include but is not limited to project research; document drafting and preparation; plans, specification, and bid document preparation; bid coordination and review; project updates; construction administration; and other related tasks as assigned. The IT Project Manager will have strong knowledge of project management methodologies and approaches in the public or private sector specific to technology-based projects and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Our ideal candidate will possess previous experience leading technology projects, and leading diverse project teams, virtual teams, and IT resources from other city departments. The ideal candidate must be well organized, must have strong communication skills at all levels, including executive leadership, and be confident and comfortable with engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate must show a supportive attitude toward change, a willingness to develop new ideas to achieve results, and a desire to be an active change agent in the organization. The Project Manager will be expected to manage multiple projects of varying complexities, lead various project teams, and ensure proper communication across all projects.

Leadership, risk management, communication, critical thinking, negotiation, detail-oriented, and time management. Public Safety or Government experience is a plus.
