Job Description

Description

This position will be responsible for leading a project team in the development of experimental and new technology hardware for space flight applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall project schedules, budgets and status reports as well as develop risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Address project problems in a timely and straightforward manner
  • Perform cost and schedule estimating and management functions.
  • Perform risk management including risk assessment and implementation of risk reducing measures
  • Define, communicate, and mitigate project and project risks
  • Coordinate and support flight hardware and software products and systems development phases, through design, procurement, fabrication, test, data analysis, certification, and flight/mission delivery.
  • Interface directly with customer project manager or management team daily.
  • Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity.
  • Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team to complete all aspects of the project including: requirements definition, design, Engineering review boards, manufacture, integration, operations and environmental testing.

Requirements

  • BS with an Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
  • 15+ years of experience in project/product development, preferably within the aerospace industry

Preferences

  • Aerospace industry preferred
  • PMP certification
  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
