Job Description
Job Summary


The Project Assistant will assist in recording inventory transactions within Tekla. This includes receiving, and assigning locations and quantities accurately. The Primary responsibility is to support the Senior Project Manager and Project Admin in the shop. This position is responsible to assist in the compilation and maintenance of material and parts inventory reports with status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the required duties.


Job Responsibilities

  • Pulls parts/ materials for work orders and move to designated locations in Tekla to match physical locations in inventory storage areas. Adjust inventory and pull sheet counts..
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, and goods used or issued in Tekla.
  • Work with Weld Shop on status of raw material work orders.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually within a computer (Tekla).
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Recommend and assist in making arrangements for disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock.
  • Work with production to address any shortages or damaged parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses.
  • Knowledge of Receiving procedures and documents.
  • Verify inventory records in Tekla by comparing them to physical counts (cycle counts, etc.) of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
  • Aid shipping and receiving when needed.


Position Qualifications


Education and/or Experience and Skills


  • Must be experienced in the use of MS Windows based computers, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access Data-Entry).
  • Experience with Tekla or similar production planning database software is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level.
  • Two plus years of experience required, five plus years a plus.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
