The GU Center for Child & Human Development (GUCCHD) is dedicated to fostering a stronger society by promoting the wellbeing of ALL children, adults and families and creating more inclusive communities. We execute this mission through research, training & technical assistance, scholarship and thought leadership.
Within the Division of Early Childhood, the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Technical Assistance Center (IECMH TA Center) works to build strong foundations for all children's health, learning, behavior, and relationships during their most critical period of development. Funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Center supports SAMHSA-funded grantees by providing training and technical assistance to states, communities and tribal nations in their work to address the mental health needs of young children and families, build the infant and early childhood mental health workforce, and improve systems and policies that promote the wellbeing of young children, families, and caregivers.
The Project Assistant will provide overall administrative support under the direction of the Project Director and Program Manager to ensure the smooth operations of the IECMH TA Center. The Project Assistant will have responsibility for supporting meeting planning and management; supporting maintenance and development of internal processes and procedures documents; supporting other project faculty and staff as they coordinate project activities and in the development of multimedia presentations for grantee meetings, the annual grantee convening, and conferences. The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of virtual meetings and webinars and providing limited technical support. The Project Assistant will support the preparation of reports and other required deliverables for the project. The Project Assistant will support a smooth and even flow of work among the project components. In addition, the position will provide support in the oversight of project activities such as meeting and TA event planning to ensure dependable and high-quality output from this national center.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Project Assistant works under the programmatic direction of the Project Director and Program Manager and is a key support to IECMH TA Center faculty at the GUCCHD and its subcontractor, ZERO TO THREE. The Project Assistant plays a vital role with the GUCCHD administration in ensuring that the administrative needs of the project are met. The Project Assistant will represent the Center and Georgetown University in interactions with our sponsor, partners and grantees.

Requirements And Qualifications
High School Diploma and 2-4 years of relevant experience required, bachelor’s strongly preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proficient in Data Entry. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must have ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of individuals.
