Job Description
Summary/objective


The clinical assistant provides clinical support in a high-volume practice of orthopedic surgeons. The position is responsible for a wide variety of clinical and clerical duties.


Position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, and is eligible for a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and professional development stipend.


Essential Functions

  • Retrieve patient information from EMR system
  • Obtain prior authorizations
  • Communicate information with patients as directed by physician
  • Schedule patient testing
  • Manage and prioritize phone calls and electronic communication
  • Provide appropriate patient education regarding injuries
  • Assist physicians during office visits
  • Assists patients to/from clinic areas
  • Scribe patient information into the EMR system
  • Conduct preliminary patient evaluations

Work environment


  • This position is performed in a typical, professional medical office setting


Physical demands


  • Continuous walking, standing, speaking, listening, computer use, phone use
  • Occasional sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds


Travel Required


  • Position will cover clinic at Carmel, Noblesville, and Greenwood locations


Required Education And Experience


  • Experience with and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is required
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical assistant experience is required
  • CMS regulatory and compliance standards knowledge is required


Preferred Education And Experience


  • Blood draw experience is preferred
  • Orthopedic or Sports Medicine experience is preferred
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Athletic Trainer strongly preferred
  • Five (5) years of clinical assistant experience is preferred
