Project Accountant Jobs

Gilbane is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in New York City that is capable of fulfilling the project accounting and project forecasting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a singular large project, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel. This role will sit primarily in the office, but travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waivers
• Assist with the development of contract abstracts
• Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Participate in the monthly project forecast process
• Familiar with WIP process
• Manage the project financial closeout
• Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 0-5 years with CM or General Contractor organization
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability ?Familiarity with the GIG process
• Familiarity with construction and pricing components
• Experience with Textura Payment Management System preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with construction industry insurance products
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience in CMiC preferred

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For New York, New York this ranges from $70,000.00 - $115,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
