Project Accountant

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant for our Power Delivery Project Services Group VII department in Houston, TX. The Project Accountant will interact productively with key project team members, under the direction of an Area Lead and Project Manager(s). This position will be based out of our Houston, TX office with the ability to work a hybrid schedule (office/WFH). The Project Accountant works closely with the Area Lead and Project Manager(s) in the financial management of projects. The ideal candidate should have project accounting knowledge and can interact with key members of the project team. Specifically, the Project Accountant handles everything involving the project's financial side, including project initiation, budgets, expenditure tracking, invoicing, status reports, unbilled costs, purchase requisitions, percent complete updates, accounts receivable, etc. The individual will also work with the Project Manager(s) on contracts, subcontracts, and change order documents. Decision-making skills, the ability to work in a team environment, take initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise good judgment are required to successfully handle these responsibilities. The individual should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, have a client service attitude, as well as strong organization, communication, and document coordination skills.

Required Education/Experience

• Strong communication and writing skills
• Willing to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel is required
• One (2) + years of related experience
• Working knowledge of an ERP system
• Strong analytical skills

Desired Education/Experience

• Knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
• Experience working on various-sized projects/programs
• Knowledge of Power Business Intelligence (BI)
• A degree in business, accounting, or finance or equivalent industry-related experience
