Job Description
Columbia Basin College (\"CBC\" or the \"College\") seeks a Program Assistant to provide customer service support in Student Records. This position requires courteous and knowledgeable customer service to students, staff, and members of the public. The Program Assistant will work in an environment of teamwork and provide department support by answering department emails and phone calls, serve as primary point of contact at the Welcome Center and Student ID Center, and assist with departmental processes and data entry. This position reports to the Director for Enrollment Services.\ \

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary contact for students, staff and the public; disseminate information and communicate policies and procedures to students and community members related to Getting Started, admissions, registration and other Student Records and activities;
  • Review student applications and transcript requests;
  • Operate ID computer and camera to create student ID card;
  • Accurately process student documents, forms and records; update missing student record data, enter name/address changes, Release of Information forms, input data into SMS based on getting started admin report, student reactivation requests;
  • Answer the Student Records department phone queue and email;
  • Assist prospective and current students with applying to college, registration add/drop/withdrawal, returning student reactivation, transcript requests, transfer-in processes and other student related inquiries;
  • Serve as a back-up telephone operator in Student Records and Hawk Central; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide high-level customer service and problem-solving assistance to students, staff and the public at the Welcome Center;

Required Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of clerical and/or customer service experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent; and
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a college office setting;
  • Associate\'s degree or equivalent from an institutionally accredited college or university;
  • Intermediate computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems; and
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and in Spanish.
