Job Description
Job Overview:
The Professional Learning Manager, Field builds broad and successful usage of Learning A-Z products by managing and implementing high quality product training and professional learning across an assigned region. By bringing experience in elementary education, literacy expertise, and professional learning experience, the Professional Learning Manager contributes to improved classroom instructional practices and effective utilization of Learning A-Z resources.
Working closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams, the Professional Learning Manager applies pedagogical expertise and consultative coaching skills in the development of professional learning plans that support new, renewal, and expansion business on accounts in their region.
They have experience identifying professional learning needs and building consensus with multiple stakeholders. They also love working with teachers and facilitating professional learning to support Learning A-Z product usage. The Professional Learning Manager is part of Learning A-Zs Professional Learning Services department and reports to the Senior Manager, Field Professional Learning.
Job Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the sales team, evaluate the health of client districts within the assigned region to identify additional support needs.
  • Effectively negotiate conversations with district/school administrators, applying literacy and professional learning expertise with knowledge of district and state initiatives and standards.
  • Consult with sales, customer success, and clients to develop professional learning plans designed to effectively deliver initial and ongoing training and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training, cross-functional team projects, collaborative decision-making, and development of team events.
  • Conduct virtual and onsite professional learning sessions and complete documentation of pre/post training reports, surveys, and communications.
  • Support professional learning contractors, as needed, to successfully deliver professional learning to clients, ensuring adequate training and preparation to effectively support educators.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Field Professional Learning to set, document, review, and manage professional learning activities towards measurable performance metrics.
  • Represent Learning A-Z and present awareness sessions at sales events and professional conferences.
  • Manage professional learning events, in collaboration with a district/school, including evaluation of needs, scheduling of events, organization of all delivery assets, and after-event follow-up with site contact.
  • Effectively communicate with the sales team and Senior Manager, Field Professional Learning to discuss assessed school/site needs and goals for account.
Job Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of management or coordinator experience in education or educational technology
  • Proven ability to work with small, flexible, cross-functional teams to set measurable goals and meet or exceed them
  • Knowledge of educational research pertaining to instruction and professional learning in literacy and the Science of Reading
  • 3 years experience as a classroom teacher of elementary education or reading, or comparable experience
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including some weekend and evening work, and travel as needed (up to 60%)
  • Engaging professional learning facilitation skills with experience delivering PD for teachers, particularly in literacy, ideally in K-5
  • Self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks with solid attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment from a home-based office
  • Bachelors Degree, , Masters preferred, in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy, or related field
