The Product Manager will add value to the company and our customers by overseeing all operations and management of their respective system. This position is vital to the successful development, sales, deployment and continued operation of the Micro Technology system.
  • Initial training of system operation
  • Responsible for all design, development, coordination and implementation of the Micro Technology system
  • Routinely monitor, evaluate and provide direction to all key feed yard personnel to include Office Manager, Yard Manager and other crews so:
  • Utilize and cultivate continuous improvement by:
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure Critical Control Points (CCP) are monitored and exceptions managed
  • Assist in developing and deploying improved methods of routinely reporting economic benefit by feed yard
  • Prioritize the installation schedule and develop the cost of each installation; which requires close involvement with the sales and marketing team
  • Work in conjunction with all required resources that aid in producing successful installs, satisfied users and positive referrals
  • Monitor annual system operational cost by feedyard, perform cost and cost improvement analysis
  • Effective management of division employees, as well as cross management of other division employees, and supervisors
  • Create (from KPI’s) exception reporting tools/reports for management, administrators and consultants
  • Maintain frequent on-site communication with all users of the Micro Technologies software
  • Responsible for all facets of the system, including pre and post installation, technical support, requirements gathering, as well as future enhancements
  • Utilize and develop when necessary all key pre-install, install, training and evaluation checklists
  • Monitor system operation and effectiveness to include Micro Technologies Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Routinely update Animal Health documentation, deploy and communicate to key personnel
  • Produce memos, correspondence, reports and other documents as needed to ensure clear communication and successful development and operations of the Micro Technologies System.
  • Provide information / recommendations as appropriate directly to management concerning customer and management issues.
  • Best practices are followed
  • Develop positive working relationships with key feedyard management, employees and consultants
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide and coordinate all training of feedyard personnel including:
  • Monitor and routinely communicate the benefits and continuously search for methods which improve value
  • All key standardized processes are being implemented
  • Provide technical sales aid to company sales people as they market the Micro Technologies system
  • Contribute information / suggestions to enhance customer level reports
  • Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reports that illustrate performance
  • Responsible for ensuring adoption of best practices for the most efficient use of the Animal Health system
What your background should look like
Position requires 4 year degree in Agriculture field, Feedlot management, nutrition or other agricultural related field. The person needs to have five (5) to six (6) years of experience working in a feed yard. General knowledge of cattle, the cattle industry either in feedlot and dairy would be desired. Must have considerable working knowledge of PCs, data bases, operating systems, and software engines. Valid driver’s license required. Position requires 30-35% travel.
