Product Leadership Consultant Jobs

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Leadership Consultant in our to guide our product strategy and execution for a 6- to 9-month assignment of about 3 days/week in our NYC location. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record as a Chief Product Officer or similar role in one or more companies, with a focus on new product development and innovation pipeline creation. While this is a leadership role, it is not burdened with the responsibilities of managing product staff. The product staff will continue to report to the two SVPs of Product we have here, one for Ad Products & Ad Data, and one for the overall product portfolio. We want this person to be a very senior hands-on product leader and expert who will help the product organization be successful. This person will provide leadership by influence with the support of the Chief Technology and Product Officer and the Hearst Magazines executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate closely with the Heads of Product, to deliver product results.
• Work with stakeholders across the organization, including editors, CRO, consumer revenue team, and members of the executive leadership team, to drive product success and alignment with business objectives.
• Run workshops and hands-on sessions to facilitate product ideation and development.
• Collaborate with the existing Product, Data, Design, and Engineering (PDE) Leadership Team One (LT1) to ensure alignment with business objectives and vision.
• Address current pressing priorities, identifying opportunities to optimize and enhance existing product offerings, while maintaining confidentiality around sensitive business information.
• Provide regular updates to the Chief Technology and Product Officer on the progress of key product initiatives and any strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with the product team as they develop the product roadmap, taking into account customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
• Provide strategic guidance and direction to facilitate product development and innovation, focusing on overall product development process and enablement across Hearst Magazines.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of product management best practices, methodologies, and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead by influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
• Experience in creating new revenue streams and driving product innovation.
• Expertise in product management across a variety of industries.
• Commute up to 3days/week to our NYC Office
• Proven experience as a Chief Product Officer or similar role, with a track record of success in leading product teams and delivering high-impact products, including MVPs.
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
• Experience working in a consultative capacity, with a focus on providing guidance and strategic direction rather than direct management.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a win/win collaborative environment and maintain positive relationships with peers.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
