PROCUREMENT QUALITY SUPERVISOR
SAN ANTONIO, TX OR HOUSTON, TX
Contract, 6 months+
Work Schedule, 5-8's, Monday to Friday, Subject to change
POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement Quality Coordinator (PQC) will plan, schedule, track progress, and publish results of quality inspections conducted in project suppliers manufacturing facilities. The PQC will also create and process the documents required to utilize third-party inspection firms to conduct inspections such as purchase orders and invoices. The PQC will also coordinate reviews of quality process documents submitted by suppliers and subcontractors for approval. The PQC will be expected to recommend process improvements to improve the function. The PQC reports to the Director, Procurement Quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out other duties as specified by the Manager, Procurement Quality or Director, Procurement Quality.
• Assist the Manager, Procurement Quality with the development of Shop Surveillance Plans
• Represent the procurement quality group at kickoff, pre-inspection, and regular project status meetings.
• Maintain a document archiving system for easy filing and retrieval of inspection reports and other documents.
• Review inspection agency invoices and approve
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
• Prepare and update service agreements with key 3rd party inspection agencies.
• This position reports to the Director, Procurement Quality
• Receive, coordinate, and track reviews of supplier and subcontractor documents by other members of the quality team
• Create and track purchase requisitions/orders for inspection services
• Utilizing Shop Surveillance plans, schedule and coordinate inspections in supplier shops
• Identify opportunities to improve processes through tools, process changes, and communication advances.
• Create specification packages for inspector use during inspections.
• Receive inspection reports and coordinate reviews by the Technical Specialist
• Ensure that all supplier documents required for turnover to customers are collected and accurately compiled.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Import and retrieve computerized information from databases for evaluations and reporting purposes.
• Must be able to organize and oversee the execution of the activities of others.
• Ability and openness for travel as required (<15%).
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks concurrently with limited direction.
• Strong in-person and electronic communication skills.
• 1-3 years of Quality or Purchasing experience.
• Must be able to work independently with little oversight.
• Must coordinate effectively between suppliers, 3rd party agencies, and project teams.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of applicable Industrial codes and terminology, i.e., ASME, API, NDE, etc.
• Use smartphone, tablet, and personal computer to support electronic mail and standard Microsoft Office software (Access, Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Must be detail-oriented.
