Procurement Manager - Remote

BAE Systems is hiring a Procurement Manager to support Indirect Procurement. This role will support the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business Area that includes annual revenues in the billions and material spend in the hundreds of millions across a diverse set of suppliers and commodities / categories. The role will lead and direct the daily activities of the procurement process for Indirect products and services and capital items which support the business infrastructure. This position is accountable for the quality, compliance, schedule, and financial and technical performance of the internal team and the associated supply base. The Indirect Procurement Manager may be remote but in close proximity to a CMS location.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the CMS Purchasing Business System and obtain understanding of relationship to other Defense business systems
• Lead all strategic and tactical Supply Chain activities within assigned area of responsibility
• Lead and manage a team of Procurement professionals at various experience levels that are geographically dispersed to meet and/or exceed business requirements, goals, and objectives
• Attain cost reduction objectives for within spend categories
• Responsible for continuous improvements (Root Cause and Corrective Action) including change management to optimize the performance of the internal team and external supply base
• Participate in and contribute to Leadership Reviews, technical meetings, and audits
• Prepare, monitor, and present key performance metrics and briefings
• Develop and implement category / commodity strategies across a range of products and services
• Perform analysis and implement the “right-size” team to support business and strategic direction
• Ensure quick resolution of issues by leveraging and integrating the capabilities of the entire organization
• Coordinate activities to develop supply chain and material / commodity strategies across a broad spectrum of materials, equipment, supplies, and services, supporting current and future business infrastructure needs
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise relative to the overarching Procurement Process
• Monitor financial and cost performance, understanding Supply Chain’s impact to business objectives
• Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with internal customers and suppliers
• Partner with the CMS Procurement Compliance team to develop, implement, and improve procedures and practices in accordance with US Government and internal regulations and requirements

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Strategic and critical thinking skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Experience in Procurement Management and Supplier Management
• Knowledge of the solicitation process and bid analysis
• Ability to lead, motivate, train, mentor, and develop a diverse team
• Ability to find win-win solutions with a “make it happen” attitude
• Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally
• Experience in People Management/Leadership
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to resolve contractual and performance issues with suppliers
• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of work experience or equivalent experience
• Experience in Indirect Procurement
• Ability to lead continuous improvement and organizational change management initiatives

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulation (EAR)
• Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Contracting environments
• Experience in a large, fast paced, geographically dispersed operational environment
• Proficiency in Oracle ERP System or similar
• Knowledge of Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) requirements
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR)
