We are looking for a Principal Program Manager (people manager) to join the team to drive end-to-end development of Microsoft custom silicon accelerator projects that have a significant impact to the business and Azure. This candidate will collaborate with both internal Microsoft teams and external suppliers. If you are an experienced Program Management leader with a broad background in silicon development for enterprise data center and a desire to work with some of the world’s most talented engineers to deliver the hardware that drives the Cloud, then this is the opportunity for you! This role is open to 100% remote from the U.S.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and measure engineering impact and performance results by tracking key performance indicators. 
  • Communicate and present program plans and status with management.  
  • Drive technical projects from requirements through launch, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks and keeping processes running smoothly. 
  • Create and operationalize processes to transform the effectiveness of the organization with respect to meeting business goals.
  • Align key stakeholders, and manage projects through milestones to completion on schedule and in budget. 
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and implement features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows. 
  • Manage engagement with IP vendors.
  • Coach, enable and grow Program Managers within the team and our partners. 
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years people management experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Silicon development.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with developing highly integrated hardware/software solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal IPs.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and across various teams.
  • Breadth of knowledge of various phases of silicon development process, platform planning and design, product level architectural trade-offs.
  • 15+ years’ experience of large-scale silicon engineering including program management or technical roles
Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
