What you will do!
The person in this Power Platform Developer position will provide expertise and leadership to analyze, plan, develop, integrate, implement and coordinate the operations, maintenance, installation and construction of information systems. The developer will serve as a specialist dealing essentially with software development, support, and maintenance. Job duties will include planning, analysis, problem solving and application development. This position supports projects for the REALD/SOGI implementation efforts by analyzing business requirements, gathering functional and non-functional requirements, developing conceptual models, and participating in the development of detailed designs for systems and components.
The person in this position is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of technology solutions through collaboration with other team members, IT staff and business partners. The position will also participate in research on possible solutions and makes recommendations based on findings; assist in the development of proposals that outline feasibility and costs; suggests, designs, tests, implements, and evaluates solutions.
In this role, you will provide technical expertise for staff on new system development, system modifications and system updates. You will make technical recommendations to assist management in establishing standards, recommending changes in business processes for effective utilization of the system resources and reviewing new construction for conformance to overall system standards and business objectives.

What we are looking for:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Information Systems Specialist 7
(a) Six (6) years of information systems experience in:
Application analysis, design, development and support.
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
four (4) years of information systems experience in:
Application analysis, design, development and support.
OR
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
two (2) years of information systems experience in:
Application analysis, design, development and support.
OR
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Working Conditions
This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization. It requires working with a variety of people and situations, which requires the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times. This position requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within short time frames, and interface effectively with business partners. It requires maintenance of tight deadlines and close coordination of a large number of tasks. Often travel to meetings is required with some travel to trainings. There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the project. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.

There may be times that a position or an individual must be located full-time, on-site, within traditional business hours. Times when on-site presence can be required include but are not limited to training, performance, business alignment, accommodations, or resource availability. To be eligible for remote work, staff must have a home workspace that meets all applicable technology, security and safety requirements including the ability to provide protection of confidential information.

  • Ability to take high level, customer driven ideas and turn them into actionable software requirements
  • Develop and maintain solution documentation.
  • Ability to develop new application from beginning to end as well as maintaining existing applications in more than one modern programming language.
  • Develop, analyze and apply model-Driven Apps, Automations, and Customizations, including entity and form creation, workflow, process automation, business rules, reports, dashboard, and system configuration.
  • Basic understanding of PowerApps and Flow licensing plans
  • Satisfy requirements, meet agreed completion dates, and perform unit & integration testing
  • Solid understanding of the Agile/Scrum Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Support cross-functional project teams consisting of app development, IT operations, and Business staff
  • Multi-task effectively between projects
  • Willingness to assist with the development of business use cases, user stories or other agile software development requirements gathering and documentation methodologies.
  • Interpret and design database models (Common Data Service, SQL Server, XML etc.)
  • Integrate Power BI Reports and dashboards into PowerApps
  • Provide proposed enchantments and system changes that address business system change requests
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or other Development Operations tools.
  • Address and remediate security vulnerability findings in PowerApps
  • Knowledge of Software Development technology stacks, such as: .NET, Power Platform, IIS, Azure DevOps, SQL Server, Common Data Service, Power Automate, etc.
  • Ability to work with little guidance when performing complex development functions, establishing personal work priorities, resolving issues in alignment with unit’s technical standards, practices, frameworks and paradigms.
  • Conduct feasibility research for proposed/requested system changes
  • Experience using modern source control systems, testing practices, code and design review tools and processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern relational database design, modeling and manipulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
