Platform Materials Manager Jobs

Work Hours: Normal Work hours (M-F 9 to 5)

Location: Remote / Hybrid depending on Location to Plants

As our Platform Materials Manager, you will:

• Reviews departmental disciplinary, developmental, and personnel actions, i.e. promotions, transfers, salary increases, etc.
• Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
• Develop individual and team skill sets and knowledge to empower employees to take ownership and find solutions (within defined limitations) and to improve productivity and effectiveness.
• Engages with both external and internal customers to develop and manage KPIs that align to processes so the department and individuals can measure and maintain service expectations.
• Prepare and present reports to platform level management
• Understand and utilize multiple operating systems
• Ensure the department operations personnel have appropriate policies, procedures and tools to execute all business processes effectively.
• Responsible to streamline and automate materials business processes to improve service and self-service environment.
• Develops and initiates business strategic improvement initiatives
• Collaborates with S&OP, sales, manufacturing, distribution, vendors and customers.
• Evaluates staff performance with regular follow-up meetings with supervisors and employees, and by providing on-going performance feedback.
• Advances working relationships between the materials group and sales to minimize time spent by the sales organization on non-selling activities.
• Provides project leadership in key materials projects.
• Recommend IT solutions to automate critical processes and address materials management resolution.
• Creates an effective (cost & service) organization by eliminating redundancy and improve efficiencies.
• Support IT initiatives that drive improvement ultimately contributing to materials management and internal efficiencies.

• BS degree or experience
• The ability to create and present a business case to senior leadership when confronted with extraordinarily complex problems
• Previous experience working in a materials environment that utilizes COMN and SAP as the corporate operating systems is preferred.
• SAP user skillset to identify current state application gaps and introduce solutions.
• 3+ years in a leadership role AND 3+ years in a Materials leadership role.
• Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge to create budget and set expenses without consultation from Manager and able to make independent discretionary spending decisions
