Market-leading global food manufacturer is currently in search of an experienced Plant Operations Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing and automated packaging lines to join its team within its flagship, state-of-the-art plant in Memphis, TN. Prior experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Business Unit Manager or Plant Manager within a large, high-speed food manufacturing plant is absolutely essential.
Primary responsibilities:
- Day-to-day leadership of a high-volume, high-speed plant business unit, including management of salaried supervisors and up to 150 hourly union associates responsible for production of finished goods
- Teach, train, and coach the department’s leadership team to achieve company and business unit goals and objectives, including production metrics, safety and quality initiatives, and best practices
- Continue to drive and influence a continuous improvement culture within the operation, focused on attaining departmental goals in the areas of productivity, safety, and quality
Key requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- Must have a strong background in food safety (HACCP / SQF / GFSI) and GMPs.
- Experience managing union associates is strongly preferred
- Must have excellent communication skills and computer skills - SAP experience is strongly preferred
- Must have demonstrated experience in the leadership, training, and development of salaried supervisors and hourly associates to attain company objectives
- Must have 5-7 years of senior production leadership experience within a food manufacturing operation - experience leading a high-speed packaging department with 100+ associates is essential
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer - sorry, no sponsorships
- BS Degree, preferably within a business, engineering, or food science discipline.
