Planning Intern Jobs

SALARY: $15/hour

LOCATION: 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge NJ 08857

DESCRIPTION:

Under supervision of the Planning Director and/or designee, the individual will provide assistance in creating new long range planning projects such as:

· Redevelopment studies and plans

· Review existing Land Development Ordinance to eliminate inconsistencies or draft ordinances that support newer planning policies

· Assist in the review of Land Development applications

· Assist in preparation of written reports for Planning and Zoning Board, Township Council and the Redevelopment Agency

· Prepare maps and other graphical presentation

· The individual will perform related duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

· Graduation from an accredited College or University with a bachelor's degree in planning or working towards a bachelor's degree.

· Knowledge of municipal planning and land use administration a plus.

· Knowledge of GIS

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Some knowledge of and/or willingness to learn NJ Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL), NJ Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (LRHL), zoning principles and practices, development application procedures, Master Plan updates, neighborhood planning studies and zoning ordinance development and update procedures and preparation of maps, graphs and charts.

· Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing.
