Planning Analyst - Performance Swim

Are you a detail-oriented Planning Analyst with a passion for the aquatics or youth sports industries? Do you have a proven track record of building and customizing tools to achieve margin, turn, and growth goals? Do you love bottom up forecast planning at the SKU level? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of our dynamic team as a Planning Analyst!
The Role
SwimOutlet.com a leading e-commerce retail business with a thriving competitive swim division. As a Planning Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory planning and demand forecasting strategies to drive profitable growth. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to maximize sales, ensure optimal inventory levels, and improve in-stocks, ultimately contributing to the success of our business.
What you will do
- Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotions to accurately forecast demand and determine inventory requirements.
- Execute in-season and end-of-life product pricing strategies in coordination with the Merchants.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to review sales performance and inventory efficiency continuously.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to support business strategy and efficiency.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with vendors, buyers, and the warehouse to ensure efficient movement of goods through the supply chain.
- Manage open-to-buy dollars with new and replenishment receipts while balancing stock-to-sales ratio.
- Develop and implement demand forecasting strategies for the competitive swimming industry, considering team buys, seasonal demand, and market dynamics.
- Enhance instocks with vendor partners by assessing weeks of supply, sell-through, and sales trends, and communicate areas for improvement to the merchants.
- Collaborate with the Team Sales division, gathering input on sales trends and customer needs to drive demand planning practices and support growth.
- Create a positive work atmosphere that strengthens the team's cohesion.
You bring to the team
- Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- 4+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or related roles, ideally in the aquatics or youth sports industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Math preferred.
- Quick to learn technical applications and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with demand planning software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and solve complex problems.
- Sound business knowledge of retail and supply chain concepts.
Travel
Occasional domestic travel may be required to make waves at industry events and forge valuable connections.
