Title - Payroll Specialist

Rate - 25/hr

Location - Remote ( Local to Newport News, Virginia)

Key Role:

Process employee changes and data entry related to payroll for over 30,000 employees, including, but not limited to: upload files, leave of absence (including short term disability and military leave differentials), tax & wage adjustments, auditing, and provide Tier 3 customer support for staff. Special tasks may include year-end processing & reconciliations or assisting with testing during payroll system implementation.

This role will be remote, with the potential for an in-person team meeting once or twice during the year. This is intended to be a long-term assignment running through at least August 2024.

Basic Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service, including verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of expatriate employees and military differential pay
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
• Knowledge of multi-state compliance, including taxation and reciprocity rules
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a cooperative team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Ceridian, Workday, etc.)
• Ability to calculate and process large volume payroll

Additional Qualifications:

• CPP or FPC payroll certification preferred
• Accounting background a plus
• Experience with ADP Vantage preferred
