This role reports to the Payroll Manager and will support and back-up the US and Canadian Payroll Team of Specialists for over 4,500 active employees in the United States, and Canada. High-level responsibilities include supporting the payroll team new hire on-boarding process, payroll processing validations, research for raised payroll inquiries, payroll reporting, and processing for terminations/off-cycle payments. This position collaborates extensively with external payroll vendors, internal project teams, and regional/global payroll teams.
Responsibilities
Responsible for various aspects of the biweekly payroll processing for over 4,500 employees. Will be the back-up support for US and Canadian Payroll Specialists and help ensure payroll transactions are in compliance with payroll policies as well as statutory requirements. Will help support critical issue tickets submitted to both the US and Canada teams. Will act as dual support for timekeeping and gross-to-net reconciliations and validations during the payroll process.
Builds and maintains an environment in which accurate and timely information is provided to our internal and external customers with attentiveness, perseverance, and clear communication skills.
Maintains an understanding of timekeeping and pay calculation rules for active and terminated employees in all 50 states while taking federal, state, and local laws governing payroll processing into consideration.
Assists payroll management in the effective oversight of the payroll process—including detailed validation of the timekeeping and payroll process to ensure accuracy in employee payments and governmental filings.
Follows biweekly payroll checklist and recommends process improvements and procedural changes to ensure compliance.
Assists with governmental reporting/compliance.
Assists with gathering information for internal/external audits.
Assists payroll team in completing sophisticated tasks and research.
Ensures all employee and payroll information is kept strictly confidential.

The US national hourly wage range for this position is from $20.00 to $40.00 per hour. The national range provided includes the hourly rate that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual hourly wage rate will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
