Payroll and Benefits Specialist Aquila Software Remote


Aquila Software is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specilaist to join our growing team!


Responsibilities 


Reporting to the Director of HR, the Payroll and Benefits Specialist is the company's subject matter expert in payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration. This role will have the following responsibilities:


Payroll


  • Prepare quarterly tax credit reports and submit to third party vendor.
  • Manage regulatory requirements, e.g., tax registrations, garnishments, etc.
  • Respond to all unemployment claims in a timely manner.
  • Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing time and attendance, payroll adjustments, etc.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and work with the HR and finance teams to improve payroll and HRIS processes.
  • Evaluate and implement payroll/HRIS systems upgrades and changes.


Benefits


  • Address benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions. Facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
  • Support the planning and administration of annual open enrollment period.
  • Coordinate with third party administrator to manage disability claims according to the plan.
  • Respond to and manage unemployment claims and workers’ compensation cases.
  • Using knowledge of HR compliance issues, administer the time and attendance. entitlement and paid leave policies for all employees.
  • Administer all employee benefit programs.


HRIS Administration


  • Serve as primary admin for onboarding, offboarding, status changes, etc.
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic employee personnel files and documentation for employees.
  • Recommend business process improvements having an HRIS component.
  • Conduct exit interviews and maintain retention data.
  • Using knowledge of various HR disciplines, produce scheduled and ad hoc reports from the HRIS to support the businesses (including payroll and entitlement data, workers’ comp and 401k audits, demographic data, annual benefits testing, annual reports).


Requirements


  • Customer service attitude with an aptitude in problem-solving
  • Experience with HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce or Paycom preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in human resources
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with payroll and benefit administration
  • Understanding of human resources compliance issues, policies and procedures
