The Patient Specialist will provide clerical support to outpatient staff in a very busy office. Registers and schedules appointments and transportation for patients.


  • Provide support and coverage to the Office Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of work.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates or Certification in Secretarial Sciences preferred.
  • Assist Director and other clinical staff as needed.
  • Must be computer literate and have good typing skills.
  • Two year's experience working in a fast pace Business/Human Services office preferred.
  • Must have effective oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain responsibility of keeping all relevant forms and reports (i.e. case management) current and accurate.
  • Good interpersonal skills required.
  • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2-year continuous abstinence.
  • Filing, answering phones and data entry.
  • Treats patients, and colleagues with dignity and respect; honors each person’s right to privacy/maintains very strict patient and colleague confidentiality; respects all individual differences; supports cultural diversity.
  • Insurance knowledge a plus.
  • Familiarity of geographical locations of clients and assigned routes.
  • Proven strong Customer Service skills.
  • Ensure that Client Information Packets are accessible to clients.
  • Ability to multi-task a must.
  • Verify insurance benefits for patients and schedule patient sessions.
  • Perform all general office and reception duties including telephone work, typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, and ordering of office supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with collection of co-pays and deductibles.
  • Maintain billing as required.
  • Consistently documents time in Worforce and Ultipro; adheres to attendance policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hectic environment.


All positions require a TST, MMR Titer, the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, and satisfactory criminal background records check.
