A team located in Norfolk is hiring a full time overnight. This position provides support to several people in different apartments on the overnight shift. The schedule of this position is Sunday through Wednesday 9p-7a. This is an "awake" position.

Hope House provides over 50 hours of classroom training for this position.A rewarding, challenging, and fun job!
Duties to include:
- Attend the monthly team meeting, quarterly agency-wide meeting, agency-wide retreat, and other meetings, training, in-services, etc. as defined by the team leader.Run errands outside of the office when needed, and test fire alarm systems.
- Use personal vehicle during work hours, as needed, to carry out services as described.
- Provide training to persons served by Hope House Foundation as defined by each person’s Individualized Service Plan.
- Provide guidance and behavioral support, read, understand, and implement behavioral support plans/interventions as described for each individual.
- Teach and assist persons served by Hope House Foundation, in completing activities associated with a daily living routine; those activities include, but are not limited to cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, banking, transportation, obtaining and giving medications as prescribed, relocation, etc.
- Follow agency policies, as they currently exist, and participate in the development and implementation of future agency policies and goals.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Serve as a liaison on behalf of persons served with family members, other agencies, and the general community, and represent the agency in a professional and positive manner in all interactions.
- Provide emergency first aid should occasion arise, and assist persons served in obtaining prompt medical attention from a qualified professional when necessary.
- Complete required non-service related forms such as payroll and mileage sheets.
- Assist persons served in integrating into the community and spending leisure time engaged in activities that the individual enjoys.
- Document services provided, and ensure the confidentiality of information and records pertaining to persons served.
- Adhere to the Hope House Foundation Employee Code of Ethics and Supported Living Guidelines.
- Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Must have reliable transportation during work hours.
- Want to learn and grow professionally
- Willing to attend a Medication Management training that we pay you to attend
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
- Willing to attend a Red Cross First Aid training that we pay you to attend
- Ability to carry out the physical requirements of this position which include but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds several times per shift as needed, ascending and descending stairs several times per shift, pushing and pulling wheelchairs and sitting, standing, and walking for periods of time throughout a shift as needed.
- HS Diploma or equivalent degree
- 18 years or older
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience through education or work history that demonstrates reliability/dependability.
- Skill in locating and accessing community resources.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to assist individuals with completing activities of daily living.
- Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Skill to complete satisfactorily: Medication Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and other requirements associated with orientation.
