Job Description
We are in a period of unprecedented growth. We are seeking several talented and experienced OSP Engineers / Technical Specialists who possess a genuine interest in performing telecom engineering to support rural fiber projects (FTTH, FTTP, FTTx).

This is a traveling position primarily in Iowa and Southern Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

In general, an OSP Engineer/ Technical Specialist will be responsible for the design, field notes, pricing, and drafting of copper and fiber facilities. This position’s essential functions will include, but are not limited to:
  • Engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders using any combination of aerial, buried, or underground cable.
  • Performing field visits.
  • Copper and fiber optic cable engineering.
  • Completing projects with short turnaround times.

Requirements

  • NDS and AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • A working understanding of the RUS (Rural Utility Standards) coding process and practices is preferred.
  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in telecom engineering.
  • Must possess working knowledge of basic office software, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must be capable of taking detailed field notes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must be willing to travel. We do not provide vehicles, but we do offer mileage.
  • Must have copper and fiber optic cable experience using aerial, underground, and direct buried practices
  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
  • Experience assisting in ROW acquisition is a plus.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of outside plant design for business-as-usual (BAU).
