Location: Springdale, AR
Salary: $21.27 - $31.91/hr

Description Of Role
SRI Telecom is seeking an OSP Construction Quality Control Compliance Engineer with relevant OSP inspection experience to contribute to all areas of expertise with various cross functional project teams. They will identify, audit, issue violations and then review resolved issues for compliance. This position will be facing OSP contractors and Cox communications compliance groups. Tasks
  • May issue work to Locate vendors
  • Make field meets with other utilities as well as private homeowners and developers on an as needed basis.
  • Tracking and reporting on aerial inspection, restoration, and completion
  • Enters information into the database
  • Completes as-built mapping
  • May coordinate the Cox Service Drop conversions - getting off jump poles (if so desired) or other poles where clearances cannot be met to remove a violation
  • Communicate with residents, city, and customer in the field under all conditions.
  • Provide quality assurance of the locate vendors performance on compliance as directed.
  • Work with other teams, utilities, municipalities, and others to ensure compliance.
  • Must be able to engineer new and existing stranded aerial plant with applicable make ready required to meet local utility aerial construction codes.
  • Must be able to use measurement tools, safely access poles on uneven terrain and be able to work outside for long periods.
  • May participate in ordering materials for various vendors and/or forecasting material needs
  • May issue work to construction contractors
  • Inspect, Evaluate and Analyze Aerial and Underground facilities for compliance with applicable internal and external safety and regulatory standards.
  • Must be able to use I-pad (or similar) for Field inspection/Survey work and possess basic computer skills
  • Inspects Outside Plant based on applicable schedules
  • Complete Pole Aerial Survey Forms and provide field drawing of measured streets and ROW objects.
  • Provide occasional repair guidance and suggestions to OSP vendors and in house maintenance teams.
  • Review and correct any information on the Joint Pole Authorization that does not match actual field conditions.
  • Inspects and QC's Contractor work
  • Communicate with jurisdictional employees to understand any changes in make ready/permitting Must be able to Identify Power and Communication Facilities and ownership on utility poles.
  • May review make ready work with contractors
  • May assist in Locating and QC (quality control) of Cox facilities
  • Contribute to the entry and maintenance of an asset compliance management database system.
  • Monitor and maintain inspection schedules
Skills & Responsibilities
  • Understands applicable Cox, State, NESC standards and regulations
  • Process large amounts of data requests and communicate effectively back to the team.
  • Reduce costs and increase safety when working on correcting infractions.
  • Exposure to CATV design and installation processes is preferred
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle safely. Company vehicle not provided.
  • Address quality/safety issues/complaints from utility companies and work with internal team to address
  • Understands high-risk geographic regions and driving factors
  • Understand and Apply Cox Communications Construction Standards.
  • Experience with aerial make ready local utility overhead aerial construction codes (GO128/95 in CA) is required
  • Understand asset, owner, local, state and federal OSP standards.
  • Develop excellent relationships with utility companies
  • Ensure that the Cox network is built in a safe manner throughout the system.
  • Excellent customer service, organization, time management, written and communication skills
Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm
