Reports to: Assistant Director of CCPU
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 6:00PM (subject to change)

- San Francisco, CA 94102 / Bay Area (Remote)
Salary: $58,240/year to $62,400/year (depending on experience)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director, and the Assistant Director of CCPU, the Organizer drives the organizing and field plan of the Local Union.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mobilize, turnout and engage membership.
- Maintain work files and comply with administrative reporting.
- Develop various communication systems to effectively reach members and providers.
- Assist the Lead Organizer in developing and executing plans for campaigns, including but not limited to, budget issues, contract negotiations, worker safety, etc.
- Identify, recruit, train and develop union leaders.
- Solicit union membership through weekly Orientations, House Visits, Area Information Meetings, Membership Meetings, and New Member Recruitment Appointments & Special Events.
- Develop organizing skills of member organizers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work to build coalitions with community groups and organizations.
- Mobilize workers around worksite issues, politics, public policy, and other issues affecting the lives of workers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work effectively in team settings, as well as independently.
- Willingness to travel and ability to accept temporary assignments within statewide regions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effectively prioritize and multi-task assignments and responsibilities.
- Must comply with UDWA’s Driver Policy.
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
- Some knowledge of labor rights & contract language, and the ability to learn these quickly.
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, often including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- Extensive union or comparable organizing experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Bilingual Language(s) in either:
- Assyrian
- Vietnamese
- Russian
- Korean
- Spanish
- Tagalog
Requirements:
- Willingness to travel.
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, often including nights and weekends.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license, auto insurance that covers business driving, and an automobile for business use.
